A Vero Beach, Florida, entrepreneur, Robert Johnson guides the fitness-focused company Stealth Self Health. Robert Johnson’s professional activities in Vero Beach include coaching clients who have a wide range of fitness levels and encouraging their well-being. While attending the San Diego State University School of Exercise & Nutritional Sciences, Mr. Johnson authored his thesis, "Effects of a Twelve-Week Cardiovascular Exercise Program on Depression, Mood States, Trait and State Anxiety.” Studies over the past 35 years have found significant links between consistent exercise and lessened frequency of mild to moderate depression. One 1999 Archives of Internal Medicine study compared three groups within a total of 156 male and female subjects who suffered from depression. One group took Zoloft, an antidepressant, another group followed an aerobic exercise regimen, and the third group did both. The surprise finding was that subjects following all three regimens had approximately the same results. With 60 to 70 percent of those who participated no longer classified as having major depression, those who exercised regularly were less likely to relapse into depression by the six-month mark. The methods vary in which exercise can improve mood. One method is an activation of endorphins, which decreases pain perception and enhances natural immunity. In addition, regular exercise has a host of cardiovascular benefits that improve overall wellness and can boost self-esteem.

With more than 35 years of experience in health and fitness, Vero Beach, California, resident Robert Johnson offers private consulting services to clients at Stealth Self Health. Also actively involved in his community, Robert Johnson supports several local organizations, including the Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA). Established in 1978, the VBMA is a nonprofit organization that offers a place for the public to experience educational arts and humanities programs, quality exhibitions, and stunning collections. It offers a regional center for people to experience the arts and humanities. In 1999, the museum doubled the size of its facility to more than 54,000 square feet, and in 2007 it added the Alice and Jim Beckwith Sculpture Park. In 2011 and 2012, the VBMA further expanded the park as well as building an atrium, vestibule, and separate exhibitions and collections wing. During the year, the VBMA houses various exhibitions, with one set to take place between January 7 and May 7, 2017: “The View Out His Window (and in his mind’s eye)” will feature large-scale photographs by Jeffrey Becton. These photo-montages form images that make people think, as Becton mixes tone and texture in order to create images that seem recognizable but are also unknown. The artist employs digital manipulation in his work, a technique he learned on his own by teaching himself Photoshop when Adobe released it commercially. The Bates College Museum of Art in Lewiston, Maine, organized the exhibition. Robert Johnson is a Vero Beach, Florida, resident with experience in the health and fitness industry. Currently leading the company Stealth Self Health, Robert Johnson is also a supporter and member of Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA). Established over 30 years ago, the VBMA has a mission to provide a diverse array of quality exhibitions. Starting in October, the VBMA will introduce a new exhibition titled The American Spirit: Selections from the Manoogian Collection. Running until January of 2017, The American Spirit exhibition will feature historical art collected by Richard and Jane Manoogian. On display will be works by Asher B. Durand, Frederick Frieseke, Frank Benson, and Andrew Wyeth, all American artists who excelled at their craft and even led or took part in international artistic movements. The Manoogians have been collecting art since 1970. According to VBMA’s director, the couple exemplifies the generosity of spirit that allows the public to enjoy art. Robert Johnson, a Vero Beach, Florida, business owner, operates Stealth Self Health fitness center. He has worked as a fitness industry professional since the mid-1980s, helping people get in shape and stay healthy. Although Robert Johnson now resides in Vero Beach, Florida, he went to the Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, Massachusetts, as a youth.
Originally conceived as a boys-only day school, the Noble and Greenough School first opened its doors in 1866. The institution began to accept students for boarding in 1922 and eventually opened its doors to girls in the mid-1970s. Today, Noble and Greenough School students follow the service-oriented tradition of the school’s founders. To graduate, every student is required to complete and document 80 hours of community service. Students work in partnership with local nonprofit organizations to better their community. In a typical year, students will serve more than 100 different organizations, the most popular of which are Community Servings, 826 Boston, and Cook’s Afterschool Program. Remarkably, most students choose to exceed the required 80 hours, allowing the school to contribute 20,000 service hours to the Dedham community each year. The Vero Beach Museum of Art was created in 1986 in the hope of encouraging art education and appreciation in the community. The small museum was originally known as the Center for the Arts. Today, it has more than doubled in size, and now features an outdoor sculpture park and a covered atrium. Through September 25 of 2016, 71 pieces from NASA’s collection will be featured in an exhibit titled Out of this World: The Art and Artists of NASA. Usually housed at the nearby Kennedy Space Center, NASA’s collection features paintings and photographs that capture the spirit of its mission. NASA partners with teams of artists to seek out space-centric art meant to inspire. With the rapid growth of technology, options abound for those looking for a little help to plan and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The basic pedometer has given way to smartphone apps, smart watches, and wearable fitness trackers. These tools have the ability to help track calories, plan exercise routines and healthy menus, and provide nutrition information when dining out. They also help to predict calories expended during activities and exercise and measure distance, pace, and even heart rate. Although these tools can help to enhance health and fitness, they should not replace professional advice. Personal trainers and coaches provide the experience, education, and knowledge to help people reach their fitness goals in a safe and efficient manner. Health and fitness professional Robert Johnson of Vero Beach, Florida, possesses extensive training, including a master’s degree in applied/clinical and sport exercise physiology and postgraduate work completed through Harvard University. Having provided multi-sport coaching to people of all fitness levels, Robert Johnson now leads and owns Stealth Self Health in Vero Beach. Robert Johnson formerly owned a triathlon coaching business called Yankiwi Sport, LLC, and served as the chief exercise physiologist for former president George H.W. Bush. Now as a resident of Vero Beach, Florida, Robert Johnson supports several local organizations, including the Vero Beach Museum of Art, the Riverside Theater, and the Indian River County Firefighters Association.
The Indian River County Firefighters Association runs the annual county fair, which usually is held in the springtime. Since 1980, the firefighters have been an integral part of the county fair, with Fire Lieutenant Bill Tripp acting as first general manager of the fair. The current general manager is Fire Lieutenant Wayne Howard. Over 30 years ago, the Indian River County Commission set aside 75 acres of area and parking and then asked the firefighters to submit an application to the State of Florida for funds to help maintain and improve the fairgrounds. Now with the Indian River County Fair Association chartered through the state, they subcontract with the Indian River County Firefighters Association to put on these 10 days of family fun annually. The 2016 fair began on March 11. Robert Davis Johnson, a fitness professional in Vero Beach, Florida, has provided multisport coaching to triathletes at all skill levels. Furthermore, he was a personal trainer to President George H. W. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush. In 2004, Robert D. Johnson served as director of marketing and sales during the reorganization of Colorado Altitude Training, a provider of altitude simulation technology.
For many athletes, training at high altitudes offers numerous benefits and, ultimately, an edge over the competition. Because oxygen availability decreases at higher elevations, an athlete’s body must work harder to compensate. Training in these conditions can increase aerobic uptake and anaerobic capacity, in addition to improving the body’s ability to recover from strenuous exercise. Upon returning to lower altitudes, athletes often experience higher levels of speed and endurance, with less overall fatigue. High altitude training can also be incorporated into military training. When soldiers practice exercises at high altitudes, the likelihood that they will experience altitude sickness decreases. In fact, such training typically enables them to perform optimally in a wide range of environments. |
